Judas

I feel like I am Judas.

I have always identified with Judas. In fact, one of the biblical figures I have always looked up to is Judas. To me, Judas represents what it means to be a human. Some are true followers, some are not, and some stop following. Judas was a follower of Jesus and then sold him out. However, he attempted to redeem himself the only way he could figure out… and that is what we lose sight of. Judas felt remorse.

Most “Christians” will never understand why I can respect Judas. It’s not because I have decided to leave religion (but I have), or because I want to cause problems. Judas was an iconic figure when I was a part of that world. I sought out the role of Judas when my church performed the traditional Easter story. Judas was everything a real person is… fallible.
